For the third year running, Tranmere Rovers Football Club have been awarded the 2010 Football League Family Excellence award as they continue to provide excellent value for money and a terrific family environment on match days at Prenton Park.

Rovers are just one of five times in the North West to be given the award and just one of seventeen in the Football League to win it since it's introduction in 2008, a fantastic achievement for the club.

The award is dependant on family experience at a club on a match day, looking in particular at value for money, entertainment and the family atmosphere at a club, something that Tranmere have thrived at in recent years.

On Tranmere being handed the award for a third consecutive year, Tranmere Chief Executive Mick Horton told the Tranmere Rovers Official Website......

"We are delighted to win the Family Excellence Award for the third year in a row."

“We recognise that we are competing against a wide range of attractions to bring families to matches so want to make our home games as enjoyable, friendly and welcoming as possible.  The award recognises the excellent value for money we provide and the hard work we have put in during the season.”

He is Chief Exec - it's a typo above, read the official website he's chief executive.
