Latest ‘Give Us An R’ Fanzine On Sale

The latest issue of the Rovers Fanzine ‘Give Us An R’ is now on sale and as ever Total Tranmere is the only Rovers Site to bring you a detailed look at why the Fanzine is once again well worth a read. The usual features are joined by some different contributions which once again make it worth the Ł2.00 cost.
Tranmere's away trip to Brighton on Saturday in which they drew 0-0 also saw the release of the latest edition (Issue 54) of the Rovers Fanzine ‘Give Us An R' which is on sale priced £2.00 at all upcoming Rovers matches.
The latest issue features Captain Antony Kay on the front cover during a recent away match and on the inside of the back cover is another ‘Yesterday's Heroes' picture which this time features midfielder Kenny Irons in action in a macth against Bradford City.
Recent Rovers away trips featured in this edition of the Fanzine include Crewe Alexandra, the re-arranged game at Colchester and the second trip to Essex in the same week when Rovers took on Southend United at Roots Hall.
Regular contributors ‘The Doctor', ‘The Paddock Man' and Total Tranmere's own ‘Deadly Submarine' each have another section each in this issue which look at the current situation with Rovers and looks back to how recent games have gone for the Superwhites.
Despite the same period of time and the same matches being covered by each author, the different opinions from each make interesting comparisons with regard to Rovers chances of making the play-offs in May.
The recent ‘A New Era Begins' feature which has looked back in detail at the re-birth of Prenton Park into an all-seater Stadium in the during the summer of 1994, finishes off in this issue with an interesting look at the final construction of the massive Kop Stand and also features a summary of the construction of all three new stands including build times for each stand, the dimensions of them and also their capacities since the re-build.
The ‘You Don't Have to Be Mad' fans interview section in this issue features Jim Ennis whilst there is also a section which looks at recent newspaper mentions for Rovers for various reasons. There is also the usual Football Grounds Picture Quiz along with the answers to the pictures from the last issue.
Two final features in this issue include a write-up on the recent Testimonial Dinner for John Achterberg and a mention on the final page for the new 25ft long Tranmere Flag which has come about thanks to donations from a number of Rovers Fans.
At just £2.00, ‘Give Us An R' is a worthwhile purchase for any avid Rovers' Fan so if you have perhaps thought about buying it before but never got round to it, why not make this issue your first one?
We can highly recommend it as a publication written by fans for fans and with no connection in its content to the Club itself, giving views that you may not otherwise see in a matchday programme.
It can be bought at all Rovers home matches from Dave who positions himself on the left hand side of the road entrance to the Main Car Park at Prenton Park on the bit of waste ground on the opposite side of the entrance to the Mersey Clipper Pub (Dave is usually standing just under the Board which shows the next few matches that are due to be played at Prenton Park).
Dave is also at almost all Rovers away matches during the season, standing somewhere near the away turnstiles selling the Fanzine so there is plenty of chances to pick up your copy - you won't regret it in our opinion.
