Ahead of the first of three successive away games in League One for Tranmere, tomorrow night at Cheltenham, Deadly Submarine took time out to speak to Cheltenham Town Fan Samuel Lear about his team's fortunes so far this season, the game ahead against Tranmere and his predictions for League One this season.

What is you name and for how long have you supported Cheltenham Town?

Samuel Lear and I have supported them since 1998.

ABOUT YOUR CLUB

What is your most memorable Cheltenham Town moment or match?

The Rushden & Diamonds match in April 1999 is perhaps the paragon of Cheltenham's success over the last decade.  It was a game that pretty much determined who would seal promotion into the Football League for the first time in each club's respective history.

They took the lead after about 20 minutes, but we managed to score two goals in injury time to win the game and it was perhaps the biggest 90 seconds of our history; the difference between the glorious success of recent times and perhaps descending into the doldrums that many non league teams have suffered.

Your worst moment supporting Cheltenham Town?

Losing to a very poor Hereford side last month is the worst moment, as it pretty much condemned us to demotion.  A recent report says that in the new millennium, we have been the sixth most successful club in English football, so we have been blessed with the good times which make the present horrific times seem intolerable, but we, as a club, will be stronger for it.

In your eyes who is Cheltenham Town's All-Time Greatest Player and why?

Neil Grayson is the popular choice because he was such a supporters' player and is often seen in the terraces today.  He joined us well into his thirties and became a ‘legend', and I am loath to using that term.

He still played semi-professional football into his 40s, and it was his determination to win everything, coupled with some crucial goals which led to his universal popularity.

Taxi For?  To which Player would you pay a Taxi Fare to leave the Club?

Ashley Vincent appears to want to abscond from the club, so I shall say him. We have stood by him for three or four years of consistent disappointment and underachievement and since Allen has come in, his game has improved quite radically, but now wants to leave the club, which is a bit of a cheek.

Which Cheltenham Town player can do most damage to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday?

It is difficult to say as it would appear that we have an injury ravished team. However, Ian Westlake has been our shining light throughout this dismal season. He has admirable passing and crossing ability and is able to ‘drive' the midfield somewhat. Whenever he is quiet, the team is quiet.

Is Martin Allen the right man for the job at Whaddon Road?

Absolutely - he needs the summer to craft his own team, and it is then when he should be judged. There is a lot of antipathy towards him based on unfounded rumours, plus his poor record since his arrival, but I believe he has been very unlucky so far.

Any Cheltenham Town Chants we should try to listen out for at the game?

We have as many inane chants as most teams in the League.

LEAGUE ONE VIEWS

What is your Top Two Prediction for League One this season?

Leicester City and Milton Keynes Dons

Play-Off Winners?

Millwall

Your tip for the Bottom Four places?

Cheltenham Town, Hereford United, Yeovil and Brighton

THE TWO CLUBS

Where do you think Cheltenham Town will finish this season?

24th

Do you think Tranmere will be Promoted/Relegated from League One and why?

The playoffs look a decent possibility, which is slightly higher than I would have predicted pre-season, so they have done well.

What is your Prediction for Saturday's game between the sides?

It is difficult to say considering the uncertainty surrounding the current fitness of players.

Any other comments to add?

None.

Thanks very much for your time and enjoy the game (but not too much) and good luck for the rest of the Season after the match against Tranmere.
