Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore was delighted with his side's performance after the 2-0 home win over League Leaders Leicester City - previously unbeaten in 22 matches in the League before their visit to Prenton Park.

Speaking to Tranmere World after Tranmere's superb 2-0 home win over League leaders Leicester City on Wednesday evening, Ronnie Moore was delighted with both the performance and the win.

Moore told Tranmere World..........

"It was magnificent, I couldn't ask for anything more.  We stopped them from playing and it was a great game.  Full credit to our lads, I'm proud of all of them."

"The goal settled us down a bit and then there was some great defending. It was a nailed on penalty, and I thought Kaysy and Jenno were going to have a scrap over who was going to take it!  But what I liked was that everyone was together patting each other on the back."

"Then we killed it in the last five minutes and there was no danger, and in the end their keeper made a great save from Andy Taylor."

"It's the best performance because we were playing the best team.  t's just a hiccup from them and they'll go on and win the league. They're the best side we've played and they're always a threat. "

Moore also revealed the reason why his son Ian didn't play in the game against Leicester.....

"He's got a problem at home, so I got a call at five o'clock and he missed out.  He's missed out on a goal as well as he'd probably have taken the penalty, so he won't be happy about that, but hopefully he'll be in contention for the game on Saturday."

That shot from Andy Taylor he mentions was quality - his right foot too. Would of been goal of the season if it went in.

It was brilliant yeah! Anyone hear Pearson's views on the game by the way?

He said something like "If anyone can see a difference between the Tranmere Penalty and the Matty Fryatt one then I will be very surprised!
