The League Football Education's ASE Programme has seen apprentice players from Tranmere take a turn and engaging school children on the Wirral as part of the National scheme. 

The ASE (Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) Scheme sees apprentices from Football Clubs take time out to talk to local school children about aspects relating to the more commonly known 'Kick it Out' Campaign which gets much publicity in football these days.

This week, players from the Rovers youth team visited Year 5 pupils from Cathcart Street Primary School in Birkenhead at Rovers' 'Playing for Success' centre.The children were treated to a question and answers session hosted by some of the Club's upcoming names as well as a presentation which covered topics such as Discrimination, Prejudice & Stereotyping, Racism, Sexism & Disabilities and the Core Priorities of the 'Kick it Out' campaign.

Following this, the apprentices of Tranmere highlighted some good examples of work that has been undertaken in professional football to promote inclusiveness.

Speaking to the League Football Education Website, long serving Youth Development Officer Warwick Rimmer was happy with the Youth teamers contributions to the event.....

"The day was of benefit to both the local school children and our Apprentices.  The children and teachers from Cathcart Street Primary School were delighted to listen to the lads talk about such an important topic as "Kick it Out" and engage with our Apprentices - who they see as potentially the first teamers of the future."

"The children were captivated by the lads' 'star' status and our Apprentices were equally pleased to be putting something back."
