Ronnie Moore's Post-Morecambe Match Comments

We bring you Ronnie Moore's thoughts following the 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Morecambe on Tuesday night which saw Rovers move into the semi-final of the Northern Area competition where they will face either Darlington, Rotherham or Scunthorpe.
Ronnie Moore was pleased to see Rovers progress to the Northern semi-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night thanks to a Ryan Shotton goal on the stroke of half-time........
Moore told Tranmere World................
"I thought we played well. I was about to complain at half time that we hadn't got a goal but we got one. It was a great ball in and Shotts did what he's good at."
"I thought we took our foot off the pedal in the second half and made it a bit nervy for the spectators and me. But there was some good movement and some good performances."
"We need to score more. We had opportunities and their keeper made some wonderful saves. Gareth Edds is going to score sooner or later and when he does he'll probably end up with a hat-trick."
"It was the win that mattered. We needed to win and we kept a clean sheet and are now in a cup semi-final. That's five clean sheets in six games so we're moving in the right direction."
"Bas has a chest infection so there was no way he could be included in this one. We like to think he'll be ok for Saturday but Ian Goodison will miss out."

Strong performance and despite it only being 1-0, they never looked like they were going to score. It was a very easy game for Coyne in particular.
Delighted Paul Henry got on, he looked good and I was surprised he did play, whilst Edds was much improved, as was Jenno.
I do agree slightly with what Ronnie said, for the first 75 minutes we were totally on top, don't actually remember them having a shot on target in that time, but with about 15 mins to go they seemed to get forward with the ball a lot more and throw in a couple of crosses, but thankfully Chorley and Shotton were able to get blocks in and keep them at bay.
Most of their chances came from the sub they brought on at half time, he put a lot of balls into our box, and it was reassuring in all honesty to see a defense without Goodison play so solidly, just a shame that Scunny nicked it in the dying seconds, would have loved to have seen them knocked out on penalties.
Great result for Rotherham, I would personally want them at home in the semis, as Scunny look to be a cut above, and Darlington were my pre-season tip for the League Two title, yet Rotherham have knocked out both Leeds and Leicester this season so every tie will be tough, so lets hope for a home tie...
Who would everyone prefer in the semis? No doubt if we get Scunny either home or away the SKY camera and Kamara will be airing live for the match.
As for their Keeper, I don't know what he was on but I want some lol!!
