Rovers Handed Away Tie in FA Cup Opener

This afternoon's FA Cup first round draw saw Rovers handed an away trip to fellow North-West side Accrington Stanley from League Two in a repeat of the cup clash between the sides earlier this season in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - a game which Rovers won.
Sunday lunchtime saw the draw made for the first round of this years FA Cup and just like last season, Rovers have been handed an away trip to a League Two side once more.
This time the journey is a little shorter than last season's trip to Chesterfield as Ronnie Moore's men were drawn away at Accrington Stanley making it a repeat of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match at Prenton Park between the sides earlier in the season which Rovers won 1-0 thanks to an early second half goal from Edrissa Sonko.
The draw ensures that ex-Rover John Mullin may get to face his former side again but the clash also means that Rovers striker Terry Gornell, currently on loan at Stanley, will be unable to play in the tie against his parent club.
With Accrington's Fraser Eagle Stadium only boasting a capacity of 5,050 and with Rovers being entitled to only 15% of that amount, the scramble for tickets in the Rovers end may be a fierce one with possibly less than 800 available.
The tie is set to be played on Saturday/Sunday the 8th/9th November and any ticket announcements will be published here when they are available.
Rovers Chairman Lorraine Rogers has already confirmed that unlike last season there will be no free coaches provided by the Club.
