For the last three weeks, you have been voting in our end of season awards polls to decide on a Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and the best new signing of last season and now we can bring you the results of those polls and bring the 2007/08 season to a close.
After three weeks of voting, the time has come for us to announce the results of the Total Tranmere End of Season Awards polls and there is a difference of opinion on this site compared with the official fan awards which were handed out at the Player of the Season Dinner in late April.
Due to technical issues which delayed the launch of these Awards in the first place, our readers have had to vote either by E-Mail or by using the Message Board option so we would like to thank all of you that voted in the polls.
Player of the Season Award

In the official fan polls, this award went to fans favourite and club captain Ian Goodison but in our own poll there was a different and perhaps less obvious winner in the shape of goalkeeper Danny Coyne.
During the course of the season, Coyne made a number of great saves including a last minute penalty save from Jack Lester in the FA Cup first round at Chesterfield that sent Rovers through to the second round and a superb late block to deny Doncaster Rovers a winner at the Keepmoat Stadium and preserve a deserved 0-0 draw.
All round Coyne has been great for Rovers between the sticks and bar an error at Luton which cost Rovers a point when he dropped the ball at a Luton players feet for him to score, he is a worthy winner of this award.
Goal of the Season

The winner of this award was the same as in the official fan awards as Antony Kay scooped the prize for his superb strike at home against Carlisle United on Boxing Day in a 2-0 Rovers win.
Kay picked up the ball just inside the penalty area and flicked the ball over the defender before volleying home and that goal was enough to beat Jennison Myrie-Williams' strike at Leeds and Steve Davies' goal in the 94th minute at Yeovil amongst others.
Best New Signing

The Award for Best New Signing, which is an award made up just for this site, was between six candidates who all signed for Rovers between the end of the 2006/07 season and January 2008's transfer window.
The candidates were Danny Coyne, Ben Chorley, Adnan Ahmed, Antony Kay Andy Taylor and Jennison Myrie-Williams, and in the end Kay won a close race for votes just ahead of Andy Taylor who has also proved to be an excellent signing.
Congratulations to all the winning players and thanks once again to everyone who took the time to vote in these awards and in all our polls throughout the season.
