Niall Jones is quite possibly Total Tranmere's greatest signing to date, with the striker joining from Premier League side and former Champions Laegue winners Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £4.50, in the January transfer window 2006

Originally signed by Manchester United, Niall was spotted playing in the park by Total Tranmere goalkeeper Matthew Jones.  As soon as Total Tranmere manager Mike Jackson came calling for the target man, Jones was only too happy to accept a move to the club of his dreams.

Jones made 12 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 34 goals and earning the interest of a number of top clubs before securing his move to Total Tranmere in the 2006 January transfer window for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £4.50.

Niall made his debut in a Total Tranmere match against Rovers Rearguard and scored a trademark goal from the half way line in the same match.

As well as playing upfront, Niall, who has a first touch like Mickey Mellon and the passing ability of Ian Sharps, yet the shooting ability of Thierry Henry, can fill in at either centre-back or in goal.
