Leyton Orient beat Tranmere Rovers 3-0 at Brisbane Road on a January Tuesday night. Shane Sherriff was sent off just after half time before which the Rovers looked likely to earn a point or even more. The scoreline was harsh on a brave Rovers side and Sean Thornton also scored against us to rub salt in our wounds.

Craig Curran was replaced on the right wing by Chris Greenacre.
Danny Coyne saved with his feet from Barcham and then on eleven minutes a corner came in and with a few opportunities for Rovers to clear Orient scored. The ball stayed in Rovers area for an age before Wayne Gray stabbed in the opener. A minute later Gareth Taylor headed straight at Nelson in the O's goal.
Calvin Zola's shot was then deflected and turned into a decent save from the Keeper who conceded a corner. Sherriff then connected with the corner to volley at the goal, it was deflected and saved spectacularly by Nelson in the goal. He then saved from McLaren just after as Rovers failed to take advantage of the eight corners they won in the first half.
HALF-TIME: LOFC 1-0 TRFC
With five minutes of the second half gone it was 11 vs 10 as for the second away game on the bounce Rovers would have to play over half an hour with ten men. This time Shane Sherriff obstructd Barcham for his second bookable offence. Tremarco then replaced Greenacre and Rovers were then playing 4-3-2.
Zola then came so close to an equaliser, but he shot narrowly wide from a Taylor knock down. Curran then replaced Gareth Taylor but at the other end it was 2-0 soon after when ex-Rover Sean Thornton fired in from long range but then "shushed" the Rovers fans with a finger to lips gesture.The home side then got their third goal which was very harsh on Rovers as substitute Jason Demetriou slotting home from close range.
