All the News and Statistics ahead of Rovers visit to Nottingham on Saturday in Coca-Cola League One to face League leaders Nottingham Forest. After a run of two draws away from home Rovers will be looking to make sure they don’t lose this one.

Next up for Rovers is Forest, the league leaders host Tranmere for the last game of the year as both look to end on a high.  For Tranmere its even more important after they recently slipped out of the promotion spots, with a game in hand.  For Forest its all about staying at the top and not giving any of the chasing pack a chance to catch up.

 

Last year saw Tranmere lose twice both by just 1-0 courtesy of goals from Grant Holt At Prenton Park and our very own Gareth Taylor back in his Nottingham days at the City Ground. Earlier this season, at Prenton Park, the points were shared in what was at the time first versus second.  The result ended goalless at 0-0.

 

Forest have won 4 of their last 6 home games and lost 2.  On the other hand Tranmere have managed just one away win in their last six along with 4 draws and 1 defeat.  Tranmere will be looking to overturn this poor away form and grab the 3 points.

 

Nottingham Forest started this season with 6 wins out of 7 before blipping and not managing a win in 4 games.  After that its been quite indifferent for the leaders with great results like the 3-0 win over Port Vale and poor results like the 3-1 defeat to lowly Leyton Orient.  Colin Calderwood will be looking to get the best out of his squad for the visit of Tranmere especially in form Nathan Tyson who has been scoring for fun since returning from injury, although he is a doubt.

 

It’s a very important away game for Tranmere as they look to end the year on a high, Their promises to be a big away following so get behind the lads and lets hope for  a Tranmere win and maybe even a Gareth Taylor hat-trick!

Despite a calf injury, striker Nathan Tyson is expected to play whilst Grant Holt is pushing foir a place after coming off the bench to score twice in midweek.

 

Defender Wes Morgan has recovered from illness and may return to the starting line-up in place of recent Rovers loanee John Thompson. 

 

Tranmere Rovers

 

John Achterberg may make his first League start for 13 months after coming on to replace Gavin Ward (thigh) at Huddersfield in midweek whilst Jason McAteer (knee) and Ollie James (foot) are unavailable for a few more weeks for Rovers.
