All the pre-match team news and statistics ahead of Rover’s home game against Nottingham Forest. In a highly anticipated clash Tranmere face off against Forest knowing a win would take them top of the table and a win would leave them 4 points away it what promises to be a tough and important match.

Coca-Cola League One at Prenton Park

 

 

Nottingham Forest travel to Prenton Park this Saturday looking to be the first team to take points home with them this season. And both teams will be looking to continue a good start to the season  

 

After 9 games Rovers are 2^nd with Forest 1 place ahead in 1st.  A win would take Tranmere top but it wont be easy against a tough Forest team who are gunning for promotion.  Tranmere have won 5 of there last 6 games picking up 15 points forest have picked up 11.

 

Tranmere won last Saturday bouncing back after a midweek defeat to Rotherham while Forest could only draw after being beaten in midweek by Oldham.  Rovers striker Gareth Taylor will be looking for a good performance against his former club and hopefully grab his third of the season

 

Nottingham Forest started very well after winning there first 4 games but have recently gone through something of a slump in the last 2 games and will be looking to bounce back with a win, while rovers injury ridden squad will be looking to take the top spot and increase forest’s recent poor run of form

 

The last meeting saw Rovers beaten 1-0 thanks to a 17^th minute Grant Holt goal while the corresponding away fixture also saw Rovers beaten 1-0 thanks to a goal by our own Gareth Taylor back when he was a Forest player after coming on as a substitute.

 

Tranmere will be looking to keep up a good start as will Forest and it promises to be a great game with a great atmosphere.  Have a great time and get behind the lads!

 

NB - This game is not all ticket but it is advisable to buy tickets before matchday as lengthy queues are likely.

 

 

Tranmere Rovers:

 

Rovers are definitely without injured midfield trio Danny Harrison, Jason McAteer and Paul McLaren for the visit of Nottingham Forest.

 

To add to Ronnie Moore's woes, Rovers have doubts over key players in the shape of Chris Greenacre and Captain Shane Sherriff although Kevin Ellsion (eye) has been passed fit to play for Rovers.

 

Nottingham Forest:

 

Forest have Kris Commons and John Curtis available after injuries and Scott Dobie is also due to return and may also be available.  Danny Cullip (thigh) is unavailable for the visitors.
