Jamaican defender Ian Goodison has become the first player to win Total Tranmere's new Player of the Month Award after scooping the award for August thanks to a number of Man of the Match performances in the opening weeks of the season.

 

In the first of our new monthly articles for this season, we can confirm that the Total Tranmere Player of the Month for August is defender Ian Goodison.

 

Few Rovers fans would disagree that former Jamaican international captain Goodison, who re-signed for the Club this summer, has been Rovers most outstanding player in the opening three weeks of the season and the Total Tranmere points system has proven that to be the case.

 

For each match this season, each Rovers player will be marked out of ten for performance and these totals will be added together and averaged at the end of each month based on the number of games played that month.

 

A player has to have played at least 30 minutes of the game to get a score and a player must have played at least 50% of that month’s games to be in contention for the Player of the Month Award.
