Yet again the goalkeeping curse at Newcastle United has hit Chelsea even before a ball has been kicked, as Carlo Cudicini has been injured in the warm-up and his place has been taken by squad member and third choice goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley.

Remember back in January 2005, during our FA Cup defeat at St James' Park, Carlo got himself sent off and Glenn Johnson had to go in goal.

Its a shame because Carlo (The second best Goalkeeper in the Premiership) was due to Captain the side.

Jose has rung the changes not only in the starting eleven, but also on the bench as he has drafted in youngsters, Michael Mancienne defender and midfielder Jimmy Smith. Also in are Robert Huth, Glenn Johnson, Paulo Ferreira and Arjen Robben plays up front with Joe Cole and Damien Duff in support.
