Chelsea Battle Back from 2-0 Down!

In an entertaining game at Carrow Road last night the reserves of Norwich CIty and Chelsea fought out a thrilling 2-2 draw with all of the goals coming in the first half.

In front of a healthy Norfolk crowd Norwich raced into a two goal lead inside twenty minutes. The first, a dubious penalty award against 'keeper Lenny Pidgeley, was converted by Leon McKenzie (related to boxer Duke McKenzie) and Norwich's second was put away by Jarvis.

Chelsea with Scott Sinclair making another full reserve start, started to play and caused the City defence with experienced Simon Charlton involved, all sorts of problems. First, skipper Danny Hollands pulled one back with a shot that was deflected over the City 'keeper and youngster Jimmy Smith tapped in the equaliser on the stroke of half-time from close range.

Considering the age of the Chelsea sqaud they equipped themselves extremely well and by the time Coach Mick McGiven had used all of his available substitutes, Chelsea finished the match with four first year scholars on the pitch: Ryan Bertrand, Jack Cork, Shaun Cummings and Scott Sinclair.

Team (4-3-3) Pidgeley; D Smith, Pettigrew, Mancienne, Elmer (Bertrand); J Smith, Grant (Cork), Hollands (c); J Younghusband (Cummings), Simmonds, Sinclair.

Apologies to everybody waiting for the LIVE update service, but due to a power surge in my area I lost my phone connection for about an hour. Hopefully normal service will be resumed next Tuesday when the Reserves are away to West Ham United.
