The Academy got back to winning ways yesterday at Cobham when they trounced neigbours Fulham 3-0.

Delighted coach Brendan Rodgers said, "This was a brilliant performance and response to our defeat during the week. Today showed the quality of the young players."

Sam Hutchinson scored his first ever youth team goal ten minutes into the second half from four yards and Scott Sinclair (Who needs Theo Walcott?) scored twice. Scott's first came after a mazy run where he left four defenders in his wake and then rounding the goalkeeper. Scott's second came after Jack Watkins threaded a ball in between Fulham's full-back and central defender before rounding the goalkeeper, this time round the other way then slotting the ball into the unguarded net.

Team (4-3-3) Hamann; Hutchinson, Worley, Cork (c), Bertrand; J Smith, Bridcutt, Furman; F Ferreira, Cummings, Sinclair.

The Academy's next game is away against Millwall on Saturday 4th Feb.

Meanwhile Scott Sinclair, Ryan Bertrand and Jack Cork are away with England U17's in Spain where the U17s will play two friendlies against Italy at La Manga.
