 Hardly a surprise to be honest. I know these youngsters are professionals and concentrate on what they are supposed to be doing and that, but you are not going to tell me that there were a few minds wandering as to the events taking place, South down the M1.

As it happens, Coventry City fielding Andy Impey and Andy Morrell got off to the perfect start with a goal within a minute. And thats how it stayed until just into the start of the second-half when Phil Younghusband equalised with a header from a Joe Tillen cross.

But within the last ten minutes, Coventry scored twice and the game ended 3-1 to the hosts.

Chelsea had Dean Smith, Anthony Grant and Filipe Morais booked. Jack Cork came on as a very very late substitute for Chelsea and immediately came up against his father, ex-Wimbledon legend Alan Cork, who is on the Coventry City reserve staff.

Mick McGiven's reaction:

"We played some pretty football and created a couple of chances. James Younghusband had a one on one with the goalkeeper, and we got a free-kick two yards from the line after a pass back and how that didn’t go in I’ll never know. It was cleared off the line, there was a big melee and we finished up getting a booking."

On conceding two late goals, McGiven sighed "Our strong point all season has been our defence, but they had an awkward centre-forward, the six feet three inches Baz Savage, and on every set play they looked dangerous."
