Yet again the row between Wigan Athletic's Chairman, Dave Whelan and the Greater Manchester Police came to a head today as the Police have threatened to pull the plug on Wigan's Premiership debut against Chelsea on Saturday 13th August.
Wigan have until August 1st to pay an outstanding police bill of £300,000 from last season or the GMP have said that they will not police anymore games at the JJB stadium until the outstanding bill has been paid or the matter has been settled amicably. Wigan's chairman Dave Whelan the mega tycoon of JJB Sports has many times expressed how unfair Wigan's Police bills are in comparison to the likes of Man Utd and Man City. Mr Whelan - get use to it - you are in with the big boys now and I would imagine that your Police bills are going to escalate somewhat.
