I find it strangely coincidental that I woke up this morning & one of the first things on my mind was the continual bashing of Chelsea Football Club by rival fans, fuelled by the frenzy that is being whipped up by our so-called democratic press, moreover Britain's favourite institute the tabloids.

It got me thinking and realising that Chelsea ARE (not becoming) but ARE the most hated club in Britain, probably Europe and probably the World although I doubt that Chelsea's activities have quite yet hit the major news in the America's, Asia, Africa, but if it has, do the people in those continents really give a damm?

A couple of posters to message boards that I have read have actually started to incite violence, by indicating that they would attack anybody that they see wearing a blue shirt and after the last couple of days and especially today nothing would surprise me. Simply put. A journalist in a national broadsheet has advocated that someone should 'top' Chelsea's benefactor, Mr Roman Abramovich.

Lets put things into perspective. Compared to physical abuse, rape, murder, adultery which goes on day by day in this mad crazy world, any of these terrible crimes against fellow beings would be enough in itself to wreak revenge and whip up hysteria. Enough the way Governments around the world run their countries again would be enough to rise up and rebel.

But no and at this point I am not going to start to defend the actions of Chelsea Football Club. People across the country have 'bashed' Chelsea from pillar to post and back again over recent weeks, so there is no point as I am and will be onto a hiding to nothing. Starting with the Ashley Cole tap-up, followed by Liverpool's defeat of Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final and lastly over recent days the alleged written 'tapping-up' of Tottenham Hotspurs Director of Football, Frank Arnesen.

Chelsea, Jose Mourinho were fined for 'Colegate' but every time 'Colegate' is brought back into the public domain, journalists and Chelsea critics forget to mention that it was Cole and his agent that approached Chelsea in the first place. Ironic or just plain forgetful. Who knows? You decide.

And now we have the situation of Arnesen at Tottenham. Although Chelsea and Mr Arnesen never met as in the case of Cole, the same media frenzy is applied to the Chelsea 'bashing' campaign over a letter and Tottenham's timing to bring the story into the public domain after the Cole verdicts were announced. Why leave it so long? If Tottenham were looking for the Premier League to take action against Chelsea why not lodge a complaint now? Or why didn't Tottenham lodge a complaint at the time of the cc'd letter/email that was sent to Mr Arnesen?

Anyway this isn't about trying to justify or defend the actions of Chelsea Football Club. Far from it. This is about my own personal fear for the safety of Chelsea supporters anywhere in the world which is even more relevant now thanks to the words of THAT journalist who wishes Mr Abramovich 'dead.'

In fact to prove that this isn't about trying to defend Chelsea Football Club, below are extracts of an email that I sent to Chelsea TV last night, which was not answered and I wonder why.

 

"One question for you - WHAT IS GOING ON??

What should have been a Summer of content, glowing in the aftermath of Chelsea's brilliant season is turning rather sour.

Just days after the Colegate verdict, and the nasty comments, criticism, abuse labelled not only at me personally for being a Chelsea fan over 40 years, but at the club themselves.

We get embroiled in what seems (allegedly) another scandal involving the 'other' club from North London and it starts all over again."

"If it is true that Tottenham's Director of Football was cc a letter or email, at the same time that Tottenham was 'officially' written too, well perhaps Chelsea should consider 'tapping me up' to make sure all further correspondance is channelled correctly.

Back in the days of when Batesy was Chairman, the club's policy was to refrain from making public comments regarding club issues until the business had been completed, but it IS beginning to see to me that the club DOES not give a damm and that money is NO object when it comes to recruiting staff, either management or players.

I have to say it is not FUN being a Chelsea supporter at the moment and dare I say it, all of the problems that Chelsea have had this season have generated since Peter Kenyon become Chief Executive and Jose Mourinho became manager."
