So the four games in nine days ended with a win. Not convincing, not stylish but a win nonetheless. At this stage of the season winning is what it is all about, but I am still not convinced that Fatty has Chelsea’s best interests for Champions League qualification at heart. Three wins in succession after the debacle of defeat at Southampton last time out in the league, breeds confidence for the next run of games (another 4 in 9 days), beginning against the Russians in Moscow on Thursday night.

Fatty’s rotational spins move faster than the earth orbits the sun.

You can pick each team for each game in your sleep, his selections are so obvious. Yesterday brought changes and on Thursday more changes will be made and THEN fatty will have BIG decisions to make as to who starts in the FA Cup semi-final next Sunday.

At the moment, Chelsea cannot buy an unchanged team and once again (as predicted here) ‘Captain, Leader, Legend, One England Captain’ JT was left out.

After his two goal salvo on Thursday I felt sorry for Torres, benched again (as predicted here) for the returning and unfortunate Ba who was clattered by Gardener who was deservedly booked and luckily not to be shown the red.

Torres made an immediate impact after coming on at the start of the second-half with a strong run down Chelsea’s left, cutting inside before passing out to Oscar (who wasn’t having his best game.)

Oscar’s first touch was woeful.

The ball cannoned off Mignolet’s legs into the path of Kilgallon who could only watch and follow the balls path into the net.

Chelsea’s equaliser was the 2^nd own goal of the game after Dave had given Sunderland the lead right on half-time following a corner, the ball skimming off Dave’s instep high into the net.

Chelsea’s winner was probably down to more luck rather than judgement as Luiz scuffed a shot from outside the area, the ball found its way to an unmarked Ivanovic who back-heeled the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

The goal celebrations appeared to be muted by the players, perhaps they couldn’t believe how another goal was scored in unconventional circumstances.
