FA Youth Cup v Barnsley U18s LIVE Updates from 7pm

The U18s crusade to retain the FA Youth Cup that was won in some style last season continues with the visit of Barnsley FC U18s this evening to Wheatsheaf Park, home of Staines Town FC, kick-off at 7pm. THERE WILL BE LIVE UPDATES ON THE MESSAGE BOARD BELOW.
Chelsea have battled to reach the 5th round stage winning their previous rounds 3-2 at Colchester United and Charlton Athletic, the latter saw the Blues come back from 2-0 down and winning the game 3-2 after extra-time.
The result and performance was on par with last season’s comeback at Nottingham Forest where the hosts led 3-0 at half-time.
Chelsea were simply dominant after the break, clawing themselves back and eventually winning 4-3.
On Monday night the U21s travelled to Blackburn Rovers and lost 2-1.
Marko Marin scored Chelsea’s goal but two defensive mistakes cost the Blues the points.
Next Wednesday the U19s travel to Spain to play Barcelona in the NextGen series and subject to work commitments, we hope to bring you LIVE updates of the game from 5pm.

A comfortable and convincing win for Chelsea with three goals in a fifteen minute first half spell saw them beat a dogged Barnsley team, who on the bus back to Yorkshire, will wonder what would have happened had they taken two good chances before Chelsea scored.
Chelsea dominated possession all evening but on the rare occasion Barnsley broke, Sousa and Maris caused Chelsea difficulty.
Sousa broke clear down the left after Loftus-Cheek lost possession, Sousa cut inside and saw his shot hit the post with Beeney well beaten. From the rebound, Beeney smothered away for a corner which came to nothing.
Maris was sent clear and his low shot was brilliantly tipped round the post by the diving Beeney.
Chelsea took the lead when Baker hit a low free-kick into the corner, the 'keeper offering to much space for Baker to shoot.
Kiwomya scored Chelsea's 2nd with a rasping shot into the same corner from the left hand diagonal of the area and the best goal of the game came when Davey sent a 60 yard cross field pass, the ball came in to Kiwomya who stepped back and crashed a 20 yard volley into the top corner.
The second-half remain goaless with Chadderton the busier of the two 'keepers.
Chelsea will now be away to the winners of Derby County and Man City.
