The Britannia Stadium. Hardly the ideal place to play after the last few days of more turmoil down at The Bridge. Buck and Torres get booed, The Portly One suffers major abuse, first leg lost to Swansea 2-0, the peasants are revolting and Abramovich is still stuck away in his New Years hidi-hole somewhere in the Caribbean.

Any good news? JT, ‘Captain, Leader, Legend,’ ‘One England Captain’ returned to action on Thursday night as the U21s beat Fulham 2-0 with goals from Feruz and Baker (pen) and the U18s drew 0-0 away to Southampton yesterday.

Although JT only played the planned 45 minutes, it was enough to see him included in today’s squad and if you are wondering how on earth Chelsea managed to swing it for JT to play as all clubs participating in the U21s competition are allowed to field three over-aged outfield players and one goalkeeper.

Any more good news? Petr Cech has also travelled with today’s squad.

So who can we expect to turn-up today striker wise.

‘The Portly One’ tried to explain yesterday that Torres played with a stomach bug on Wednesday night and new-signing (legend in the making) Demba Ba had a hamstring niggle which curtailed his participation to only twelve minutes.

Twelve minutes which suggested had he started Chelsea could have taken an extremely comfortable lead to The Liberty in eleven days time.

The last two visits to The Britannia have ended in draws – 0-0, 1-1 – repectively and prior to that Chelsea have won twice – 2-1 and 2-0.
