If you are waking up this morning looking for some solace after a night on the beer following Chelsea’s defeat in Baggy country yesterday afternoon. Utd lost and Tottingham, battered!! The league table doesn’t look too bad after yesterday’s calamity, but a similar defensive performance next weekend against the Champions and League leaders, it will be time to hide behind the sofa and don your Dads Army tin-hat.

Without sounding like a scratched 78 with a very large furball on the needle, Chelsea are leaderless without Captain, Leader, Legend and it will be a good few weeks before JT makes his return.

So what does Bobby Di do about it?

For a start I see no value having Cechie boy wearing the armband.

What’s the point? Cechie boy despite all of his years between our sticks, has trouble commanding his own area.

As a temporary fix until JT returns, give Ivanovic the armband, move him into the centre alongside Cahill and dump Sideshow Bob. Luiz maybe a ‘Geezer’ but he is one hell of a liability who simply cannot defend.

One commentator said the other day about Luiz, ‘He doesn’t defend for the team, he defends for himself.’

Reading between Bobby Di’s post-match words, it seems him and Eddie are going back to the drawing board.

Bobby Di said, “The Hawthorns is a ground we find difficult, last season when we lost here, and now this season again.

“We know they are very good at home. But giving away goals like we did today makes it difficult to win the game. You have to score three goals to win then and our defending was very poor today. We didn’t concede many chances but, the ones we did, we had to do better.

“This season we are playing a little bit different but we might have to go back to a previous formation to be able to win games, and make sure first and foremost we don’t concede.

“Maybe it is the time where we might have to change a little bit in terms of our selection and the way we play.

“For some reasons, November for our club is a bad month and it seems the same again this year. We are disappointed and maybe it is time to look at things, maybe change it a bit and get a win.

“We will look at the set-up of the team and maybe sacrifice a bit of the attacking options to go a little bit more defensive.”

“The changes made were based on the midweek international games. The players were all over Europe and the world, long flights, five or six hours’ time difference. They were not in a condition to start or last the game.”

For the record, Long gave Albion the lead, Hazard equalised then Odemwingie headed Albion’s winner and Myhill was inspired in WBA’s goal.
