Happier Times

Despite being cleared of ‘racial abuse’ by a court of law, a court of the law in this land, the FA deemed themselves a higher being by finding JT – Captain, Leader, Legend aka ‘One England Captain – guilty of racial abuse from an incident involving one of the bricks from Peckham, Anton Ferdinand almost a year ago at Loftus Road.

All Chelsea fans will not be surprised at the verdict.

The FA have been after JT for years after private life misdemeanours, but what is surprising is the length of the ban – four games – half the amount Suarez received for his ‘abuse’ of Evra.

In comparison of the strength of abuse and the words used by JT and Suarez, I had expected JT to receive a ban of equal size to Suarez’s or greater.

JT has requested a full and detailed written explanation of the panel’s ruling and will then decide whether or not to appeal the decision, the ban and the £220,000 fine.

JT has 14 days to make up his mind on whether or not to appeal, so during this period JT will still be able to lead and play for Chelsea.

If JT DOES decide to appeal, he can continue to play until the appeal verdict is delivered.

Two statements have subsequently been released.

The first from JT’s representatives and the 2nd from Chelsea Football Club

They read:

‘Mr Terry is disappointed that the FA Regulatory Commission has reached a different conclusion to the clear not guilty verdict of a court of law.’

and

Chelsea Football Club notes and respects today’s decision by the Football Association regarding John Terry.

‘We also recognise that John has the right to appeal that decision. It is therefore inappropriate for us to comment further on the matter at this time.’

Prepare for a media anti-Chelsea, John Terry onslaught over the coming days.

“Mother, where’s me tin-hat?”

COME ON CHELSEA

Yawn!!!!!!!!, Yawn!!!!!!!!!! Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it all over yet. John Terry is a footballer (an entertainer) and nothing more. He makes a lot of money doing his job but in his line of work there is a language that is common to the practitioners of the craft. It is not aristocratic, shakesparean or even just plain everyday well spoken english. It is the language of sport, it is "in your face, rough, braggadocio-like,raw and dare I say even provokingly racist" on ocassion. It starts in pee-wee league and goes all the way to the top. That is the way it is and all that@#$%&must be left on the field where it belongs, we shake at the end of it all and rejoin civil society. Those fellows are gladiators, they are at war out there, let them be.
