Fresh off the back from battering the R’s on Sunday, Chelsea take on fellow Champions League protaganists Newcastle United at The Bridge tonight. Bobby Di has reported that there are no fresh injury worries from Sunday’s game although he has confirmed that both David Luiz and Gary Cahill are still out due their respective hamstring injuries.
There is one piece of good news.
Branislav Ivanovic has completed his domestic suspension and returns to the squad.
Where he will play is anyone’s guess – Right-Back, Centre-Half – only Bobby and Eddie know.
United will be looking to bounce-back immediately after their drubbing at the DW on Saturday and Chelsea will be looking to inflict more damage to United’s fragile goal difference.
Goal difference could be extremely crucial come Sunday 13th May when the final table is compiled.
Will Torres be given the opportunity to improve on his present scoring run and form, or will Didier be recalled from the bench?
Petr Cech suggested that Torres and Drogba should both start.
He said, “I would start both. I believe it is possible but I don’t know whether it would be done or if it would work.
“I am sure one day it will happen and there will be goals.”
