I am sorry, I completely forgot that the reserves had a fixture last night at St James' Park where they won with a last second penalty scored by injury-plagued Adam Phillip after he was brought down in the area by United's 'keeper Tim Krul.

Because of Champions League commitments the night before, the team was more or less set-up with last season's FA Youth Cup winners, which makes the result even more remarkable.

Considering Sol Campbell played the whole 90 minutes for Utd, our youngsters will take special pleasure scoring three goals past him and when the final whistle blew, our boys celebrated like they won the FA Youth Cup again.

I managed to watch the last twenty-minutes and from that point, I saw Vuckic equalise for Utd after a complete mix-up in the Chelsea defence, Sebek saved well from Airey, Vuckic volleying wide and then remarkably Sebek made a double save again from Vuckic with Airey following up.

Newcastle will be cursing themselves with the possession and the chances they created and this after going ahead inside the first two minutes when Donaldson hit a half-volley into the bottom right-had corner.

A Milan Lalkovic's double put the reserves ahead before half-time. First he raced onto a through ball, beating Krul low down and then minutes later after Conteh's great work down the wing, Lalkovic slotted home.

How many 'reserves' will be on show next Wednesday when the two clubs meet at Stamford Bridge in the Carling Cup?
