Chelsea go into their third and final group game of the Dallas Cup later tonight needing a win by TWO clear goals to qualify for the semi-finals which will be played on Friday. After losing to La Deportiva Alajeunese of Costa Rica on Monday, which was considered a shock, Chelsea HAVE to beat group favourites CF Monterrey Rayados of Mexico to progress.
CF Monterrey Rayados are 100% after beating Liga Deportiva 3-0 in their opening game and then they defeated FC Dallas U18s 2-1, soon after Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Liga Deportiva.
Chelsea won their first game against FC Dallas U18s in the Pizza Hut Park Stadium, home of MLS FC Dallas, 4-2 on Sunday.
Chelsea's scorers were Danny Mills-Pappoe, Pirez, Philliskirk and Sala.
Against Liga Deportiva, Gokhan Tore and Jacopo Sala missed great chances to give Chelsea the win and Liga's goal came from a free-kick about 35 yards out that beat everybody including Sam Walker to trickle in at Walker's far post.
Yesterday the squad had a rest day and they went to the Stephen Rite Hospital to visit patients as part of a PR and Chelsea Football Club awareness exercise.
The game kicks off at 8pm UK time (2pm local time) and we will work hard to bring you updates as Chelsea go out looking for a semi-final place in the Dallas Cup.
