Carl Magnay Joins MK Dons on Loan

Football Icon Winner

The exodus to MK Dons continued today as Reserve Team Captain and Football Icon winner (2nd series) Carl Magnay joined on-loan until the end of February. Carl joins team-mate Shaun Cummings, also on loan and ex-legends Roberto Di Matteo (Manager), Eddie Newton (Coach) and Tore Andre Flo.

It has been quite a week for young Carl. Earlier this week he was called up to Northern Ireland's U21 squad for the 2nd time (due to the fact his Grandparents are Irish), but when he was called up to the Irish squad for the first time, he declined the invitation because he was hoping that Stuart Pearce, England's U21 coach would call him up for his squad.

There has been some expectancy that Carl is going to be part of Pearce's plans for the U21 European Championship finals to be held in Sweden in June, but no more news is forthcoming.

Carl has made outstanding progress since his Football Icon success, culminating becoming Captain of Chelsea's reserves.

As well as playing centre-half, Carl has played at left-back and has done very good job, the bonus being that he has a sweet left foot and can cross a ball with the best of them.

Maybe moving to League One football will give Stuart Pearce the opportunity to watch Carl play at a higher level and with reserve team matches being few and far between due to the small amount of teams in Chelsea's League, Carl should get a fair run-out under the guidance of Robbie and Eddie.

Good Luck Carl.

Thanks to poster Moretti for the 'heads-up.'

Cheers Turkish

I am hoping that he doesn't get wasted up there at MK Stadium - can't imagine he will though.

Chris you said you are all for promoting the youth well it doesn't sound like it to me.You have obviously got something against this kid and for you to say in two years time he will be struggling in the non league is very harsh. From what i have seen in the reserves of the lad he gives one hundred per cent every game and he is improving very fast that's why he deserves this loan deal.Give the boy a chance.
