OI You!! Are You OK? Yep Whatabout You?

COME ON CHELSEA

October 17 2008

These last two weeks have been mind boggling with the increasing length of Chelsea's injury list. Prior to the break we were without (deep breath....) Essien, Carvalho, Deco, Alex and Drogba. During the Aston Villa game Anelka got injured as did Joey, then JT didn't play AT all for England, Ashley 'did' his hamstring, Cech missed out in midweek.

The majority of our International players wouldn't have returned to Cobham until Thursday afternoon and some wouldn't have turned up till this morning.

'So come on lads lets have a kick about on any of the lush Cobham pitches, before we head off to Teeside for the 'silly o'clock kick-off' against The 'Boro.'

Hardly preparation for an important game is it?

There have also been rumblings in the last two weeks that Scottie wants out, Mancienne wants to go, until he became aware that he might get some first team action, Carlo is thinking about his future and Hilario got a reserve game in midweek which suggests to me that he will be in the squad for tomorrow's game.

I haven't got a worry if Michael starts, after all against Wales the other night I thought he was outstanding - just goes to show how well Chelsea school their youngsters.

Man Quality

Another defensive player I cannot wait to see in the first team is young Carl Magnay. Winner of the 2nd Football Icon as a centre-half, Carl is now playing for the reserves as a left-back and can get forward with the best of them and Carl is John Terry in disguise.

Carl Magnay is

Last season we won up there thanks to goals from Dids and Alex

If you are reading this before you board the train to 'Boro' in the wee hours of tomorrow morning, if you can, give a £1 to help Cliff Auger. Thanks.

OH CHELSEA WE LUV YOU.......

As for the 'silly o'clock kick-off,' the game kicks-off at 12.45pm and one last thing any updated news - who is in, who is out, will be posted on the message board. (Keep up-to-date right here)

Although Ballack played for Germany in midweek, Chelsea have ruled him out for three weeks and Scolari says he is not angry.

JT returns tomorrow - Deco travels

Definitely out are both the Coles

Latest injury news confirmed on official site:

Cech, , Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Ballack and Carvalho have not been named in tomorrows squad and join Essien and Drogba still on the crocks list.

Terry, Bosingwa, Deco and Alex ARE in the squad but it remains to be seen how many of these are touch and go.

It certainly makes for a very tough match away to Boro.

Scolari isn´t complaining one bit though:

"I won't consider a draw a good result despite the injuries — I want to win. I'm not annoyed about it, I'm happy. It is a test for me that I am a good coach and I need to improve.

“I have to put other players into the team and I need to get the best out of them. This is good for my work.”

"It is not only one club that lose players while on international duty. One time we can lose two or three, the next time it is Liverpool and another it will be Manchester United. This is the life of a coach. There is a schedule and we must understand this.”

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.

Full squad for Boro:

Chelsea (from): Cudicini, Ferreira, Bridge, Mikel, Ivanovic, Terry, Lampard, Sinclair, Mancienne, Belletti, Anelka, Malouda, Stoch, Kalou, Alex, Deco, Bosingwa, Hilario, Taylor.

Great to see Mancienne and Stoch in there. I suppose Mancienne must be in there in case Terry pulls up again and Ivanovic also covering a 50/50 Alex?

Goalkeepers (Cuducini, Hilario and Taylor) must also mean that Cuducini must be 50/50.

Starting line-up might be something like this:

----------------------Cuducini

--Bosingwa-------Alex-------------Terry------Bridge

-----------------------Mikel

---Kalou------Lampard------------Deco-------Malouda

----------------------Anelka

5 doubtful/out for them and up to 11 for us....

I wouldn´t be unhappy with a draw to be honest.
