Bitter Man Utd players were involved in an ugly punch-up with Chelsea ground staff whilst warming down on the Stamford Bridge turf after their team’s dramatic 2-1 defeat. The Football Association will probably launch an investigation into the incident and no doubt the Stamford Bridge CCTV footage will be used in evidence.
Stamford Bridge was once known for a famous battle between the Normans and the Saxons just before the famous “You wanna watch that son! Have someone’s eye out with that!” Battle of Hastings in 1066 but the words “Battle” and “Stamford Bridge” took on a new meaning yesterday during the sunset aftermath after our own victory on soil further south (Absolutely pathetic dixon9! – Ed).
A hem!...
Anyway…
Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Gerard Pique, Ji-Sung Park and John O'Shea were going through their warm-down exercises (Why were they warming down when they didn’t play?) when Chelsea ground staff asked them to move to a different section of the pitch.Apparently, one of the Man Utd gave the ground staff, shall we say, a colourful response and probably received an equally eloquent rebuke for his troubles.........and then......cue handbags!
Chelsea insist that Evra threw the first punch (although when you see the photo of one member of our ground staff you may wonder what on earth was Evra thinking – our boy is a handy looking bloke – probably cracks walnuts with his eyelids).Evra was then pulled back and then run off!
Man Utd say that it was Evra who was punched – no doubt the CCTV footage will clear everything up but you can be sure the FA won’t launch any investigation until the title is decided.
"It was amazing. One minute the United players were running up and down, the next minute it was a free-for-all. This was not handbags — this was a real dust-up involving players and ground staff.
"First of all words were exchanged but then the punches started flying."
The altercation was soon diffused and now it’s down to both clubs and the FA to sort all this out and the appropriate action taken.
A Chelsea statement said: "We are studying the relevant TV footage and photographs and we will then consider the appropriate course of action."
United spokesman Phil Townsend said: "We are not commenting on the incident on the pitch after the game involving the United players who were warming down until we have more information."
Didn´t mention that because it was a genuine accident - and the girl steward accepted Ferdinand´s apology.
Was a bit silly of hm though!

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.
Oh there´s no doubt whatsoever that from what we saw on the field re emotional incidents that Terry peeeeees all over Ferdinand for England captain.

Wow so u beat us..its not like u won anything plus chelsea threw everything they had (apart from lampard..with all due respect) we reseted most of our players for the barca match. You wont be too prepared for the liverpool match. Plus we've got west ham and wigan. We'll win both but avram will trip up against newcastle but doubts with bolton. Chelsea win zilch this year.
P.S Ferdinand will smack any one of your chelsea players in a fight...(talk about team spirit) drogba and ballack...great friends they are...DROGBA 100% chance to madrid
What you mean our ground staff did?!!! (The match report is on a different thread).
Anyway, yes, we may get beat by Liverpool, they rested a lot of players (as they always do as they only have the CL to go for) ....or maybe they won´t beat us.
Barcelona travelled without virtually their entire first team for their league game this weekend, so they are going to be very fresh as well.
Don´t forget, they score and you are on the rack - should be an interesting match indeed!

I saw it all but have a @#$%& phone so took a while to get recording. United were doing they're usual warm down at 1 end and the ground staff started mowing the grass in a staggered fashion. 1 of the mowers hit Gary Neville so he pushed the gardener in the back, then 1 got in Teves's way so he kicked the mower, a few words and pushing then blows between Evra and grounds staff then a big punch up. it calmed down for a second then went again, thats when the papers show Evra going back in. goto [">www.youtube.com] the chelsea staff brought the mowers out bang on 90 mins and stubbernly drove them on a collision course with the players. The Chelsea players didn't warm down (strange)

Obviously Man United would of smacked Chelsea up, Chelsea were just being pathetic because they thought they were good getting lucky in a win, not to mention the fat and ugly Chelsea manager bouncing his belly off the ground when they scored.
Well judging by their recent temperament they could probably do with "re-setting"!

It´s definitely getting up my nose that we are still waiting for compensation...
Maybe we should be taking a diiferent line of approach?

The link is a bit of an anti-climax Simon! (As I wrote it, I thought "No! That´s worded wrong!" - couldn´t be bothered to change it though!
I imagine the club isn´t supposed to disclose the "evidence" just yet - at least not until the League speak first?
