Wednesday Vs Plymouth

Date:  Tuesday 22nd November

Venue: Hillsborough, Sheffield

Wednesday and Plymouth Argyle meet for the second time in just over a month on Tuesday night, as Tony Pulis brings his side up to Hillsborough for a typical relegation six pointer.

On October 15th Paul Sturrock made his long-awaited return to Home Park and finished up coming away with a well deserved point. Sturrock will want to go one better on his former club this time around though, as the relegation scrap gets tighter and tighter.

Plymouth showed how close it is at the weekend with their first win in six at home to QPR. The win shot Plymouth out of the relegation zone and above Wednesday thanks to a comfortable 3-1 victory over the Londoners.

Pulis' men have been struggling lately, becoming the draw specialists of the division. Before last weekend's game with QPR, Argyle had drawn 4 of their previous 5 games.

The Home Park side have not won away from home since the first game of the season at Reading, and lost their last game on their travels 3-1 at Ipswich Town recently. Pulis will want to get that illusive victory against his rleegation rivals on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday will welcome the return of Frankie Simek to the team after serving his suspension against Watford at the weekend. Simek will return to right-back after Lee Bullen limped off with a hamstring injury just eight minutes in to the Watford game.

Sturrock may also opt to change the team in light of their dismal first half displat at Vicarage Road, despite the manager's plea to play well throughout the game, and not just in the second half. Craig Rocastle could be re-called, as could Gaby Agbonlahor.

Despite his frustrations, the ex-Plymouth boss may opt to keep the new formation which he implemented at the weekend. Lee Peacock took a lone role up front with Chris Eagles and David Graham supporting. Graham may be replaced by Agbonblahor.

Plymouth boss Pulis is likely to keep with the side that beat QPR at the weekend after he praised a fantastic performance - their first win since Stoke City. Argyle have no fresh injury or suspension worries.

The last time Argyle travelled up to Hillsborough was with Paul Sturrock and they ran out comfortable 3-1 winners. Argyle went on to win promotion to the Championship and were backed by over 3,000 fans who made the six hour journey North.

Let's hope it's a different story this time around.
