Wednesday winger Jon-Paul McGovern faces another 2 weeks on the sidelines following a set-back in his return to first team action. McGovern has featured as a substitute recently after being ruled out in the summer, but has suffered a firther setback in his recovery.

Owls winger Jon-Paul McGovern faces another two weeks on the sidelines following a setback in his recovery from a back problem.

McGovern has made a number of substitute appearances for the Owls in a bid to regain his starting position on the right wing.

The ex-Celtic man has been injured since the summer break with a back problem which was sustained towards the end of last season.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock told the official SWFC website: ''It is a bit disappointing. I half blame myself for this as JP maybe got into a situation when Eagles and Partridge were unavailable that may have forced him back a bit quickly.''

McGovern should be back in the squad for the game against Brighton.
