Wednesday chief executive Kaven Walker has revealed that a third offer for Wycombe Wanderers hit man Nathan Tyson has been turned down by the Buckinghamshire club. A bid of £500,000 plus a further £100,000 in bonuses did not meet the valuation given by the chairboys.

It looks as if Wednesday's attempt to lure Nathan Tyson to Hillsborough is over for the time being after Wycombe have rejected a third bid made by the Owls yesterday morning.

Wednesday chief executive Kaven Walker has said that Wednesday made a bid of £500,000 with a further £100,000 in bonuses, but that did not meet the £750,000 valuation that Wanderers have of the former Reading man.

Walker also revealed that the valuation does not match that of SWFC's for the striker.

He said: ''Late last night I recieved a phone call from Wycombe's managing director and Wycombe have rejected that offer, stating that they want £750,000 for him. We believe that is well above our valuation of Nathan at this time.''

Tyson has scored 11 goals in 9 games for the chairboys this season, but his contract at the club expires in the summer, alowing him to leave the club for free should he choose to.

Wycombe's managing director Steve Hayes has critisiced SWFC regarding the Tyson deal, saying that deals should not be done through newspaper and website reports.

He said: ''I don't want to go in to too much depth about it but we're a professional football club and we don't need deals to be done through the use of websites and newspapers. For a club such as Sheffield Wednesday to release facts and figures in the way they have is unacceptable.''

Meanwhile, SWFC chief executive Kaven Walker has said that the Owls are still interested in bringing Southampton striker Leon Best to the club, and would be even if Tyson had signed for the club.
