Sturrock To Change Side

Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock is set to make changes to the team which faces West Ham tonight. Sturrock would have kept with the side that lost to Millwall, but realises the game with Luton on Friday has bigger importance, and the young players currently in the side could do with the rest.

Wedneday boss Paul Sturrock is ready to experiment with the side and rest some young legs for the Carling Cup encounter with West Ham tonight.

Sturrock told the official SWFC website: ''I have to weigh up the value of Tuesday's game, and the value of Friday's game, and look at who needs a rest and who needs a game. Had we not had a Friday game I would have played the same team to give them another opportunity. But it's a big ask so I've decided I'll use this opportunity to give some of the other players a runout."

The Owls boss has said that he intends to keep David Graham in the side despite some heavy criticism of the ex-Wigan forward after the game with Millwall on Saturday. He believes Graham isn't showing his true form, and wants him to show just why he was brought to S6 tonight.

He told swfc.co.uk: "It would have been very easy for me to drop him but we've got to get him playing for us. I've seen him as a very good footballer but we've only seen slight glimpses of that. Now he's got to go and do what I know he can."

He also added that he would take a defeat tonight in exchange for a place in the Championship next season.

"It would be nice to win - but if someone told me we'd lose heavily against West Ham and stay up at the end of the season I wouldn't mind that."

Loanee Chris Eagles is not allowed to play in the tie.

Tickets are priced at £10 adult and £5 concession for tonight's game, so get yourself down and support the blue and white wizards!!
