At 8pm on the 9th September 2005 an Internationally Renowned Jazz Orchestra will perform at Colne Municipal Hall in what promises to be a celebration of the big band music sound of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Stan Keaton & Les Brown as well as featuring original works composed especially for the orchestra.

This fund raising concert is brought to you as part of the Clarets Trusts commitment to the community with 25% of surplus revenue going to help support the important work of the Pendleside Hospice who give vital support, care, comfort to not only the terminally ill but their families and friends.

The Clarets Trust is a non-profit Industrial & Provident Society and funds raised will help to promote football and Burnley Football Club within our community

Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra won the prestigious BBC Radio Big Band (Senior Section) Competition in 1994 & 2000 (runners up on 3 separate occasions), the Junior section of the same competition in 1989 & 1989 (runners up twice) and many other national and international honours in their 39 year history.

Under the experienced leadership of Ian Darrington, the Orchestra has worked with many of the world's top Jazz musicians including Maynard Ferguson, James Morrison, Georgie Fame, Don Lusher, Kenny Baker, Elaine Delmar, Geoff Love & Alan Price.

As a result, the orchestra's reputation has grown and demand for live performances means that touring has become a major part of a very busy schedule that includes over fifty performances per year, which is why we are so glad to announce their involvement with The Clarets Trust and the Pendleside Hospice.

The Clarets Trust is part of a national movement of over 120 Supporters' Trusts making a difference at their football clubs and in their communities. The Clarets Trust is a voluntary and democratic organisation run by supporters of Burnley Football Club that is already forging partnerships with prominent local and national businesses in a determined effort to promote the many positive features of our club, our community, the arts, our partners, and those who live and work in it.

Given the stature of the Orchestra, the wonderful Hospice that will benefit, and the great evening that is promised.

Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets available in advance £8.00 adults £6.00 concessions Clarets Trust members /Jazz club members contact Box office 01282 661234 or events@claretstrust.co.uk
