Squad in Austria

The Burnley squad have arrived in Austria for their pre-season training camp. They arrived in Salzburg yesterday and made the short journey to their camp at Obertraun.

Recent trialist Artim Sakiri has not travelled to Austria and Steve Cotterill revealed why at the training camp.

"I think Artim already has something else agreed," revealed Cotterill from the squad's training base in Austria.

"He has another option open to him and we wanted to look at him over a longer period.

"He only arrived just before the Accrington Stanley game and four days is not enough to make a full assessment over his fitness and everything else.

"I was not prepared to do that."

The Clarets play thier first game out there tomorrow evening against Greek side PAOK Salonika in Abtenau and then SV Wacker Burghausen in Bad Wimsback on Saturday.
