In his first column for the Longside, Bhurdwaz explains his hopes for the upcoming match against Ipswich. He also gives us some of his memories of previous encounters with them.

"A view from afar."

   "This Saturday's match against Ipswich Town at Portman Road is crucial in a myriad of ways.

    First Burnley have to prove that they have earned all the credit since the beginning of the Championship through the sweat of their brows. I understand that our players have to undergo rigorous training sessions, the same as practised by commandos.

  We have to show that we are determined to push forward, up to, but not necessarily automatic promotion, but at the least play-offs.

 Our defence is heavily bolstered and can successfully repel any cannon balls or heavy blasts. Their effects should be neutralised and not cause any bad effects.

The attacks have to be geared at a lightning speed. Our forwards should be fire-brand types and unstoppable. Some vital goals have to be scored. No doubt this will be our second away win of the season.

Remember what happened in the early 60s, we led the 1st division championship for the whole season. We were caught at the crucial moment and we were nipped in the bud by Ipswich led by one man who later contributed immensely towards England's victory in the World Cup in 1966. Burnley will react with all fury and this time Ipswich, you will be swept away!

Courageous Burnley, you can do it. We are here to cheer throughout the 90 minutes from near and far."
