New Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has today made his first player signing. The player in question is Ipswich Town central defender John McGreal.
Joe Royle wanted McGreal to stay at Ipswich and had offered the former Tranmere player a new contract. McGreal however turned down the deal in favour of a move to the Turf.
It is somewhat ironic that McGreal reverses the extact same decision that Drissa Diallo made last Summer when the our out contract defender moved from Burnley to Ipswich.
McGreal is bound to be a popular signing with the fans considering he was first choice centre half for Ipswich when they were in the Premiership and also for large spells at the Portman Road club last season apart from the few months that he was out injured.
Good luck John.
