Latest at the Turf

Details of the Lancashire Youth FA Cup Final are now available. We knew that our opponents were going to be Oldham but we didn't know the venue and the date until today. The game will take place at the Turf on Monday 26th April with a 7pm kick off which is just 2 days after the first team clash with Derby.

The young lads beat Tranmere in the semi final and face an Oldham side which knocked out Wigan in the last round by four goals to two. Burnley beat Oldham 6-0 back in Decemember whilst the Clarets lost the return fixture 3-1 just a month later.

The reserve team picked up their first win a few months yesterday with a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. Ryan Townsend was once again the man to get the goal and whilst the win still leaves the lads bottom of the table they do still have a chance of avoiding the drop.

Richard Chaplow wore an England shirt for the 2nd time in his career yesterday when he started for the Under 19's in their match against the Germans in Celle. The game finished 1-1 and Chappy got the vital assist that gave England the lead when his knock back was smashed home by Lee Holmes. Chappy had a decent game and was substituted shortly before the end of the match.

Burnley are expecting a bumper crowd for the big match against Norwich on Saturday. The visitors have now sold over 2000 tickets for the clash and Burnley fans are also expected to turn out in force following our dramatic win at Bradford.
