Youths through to final

The Youth Team have restored a bit of pride back into Burnley Football Club. Their victory over Tranmere Rovers means the team are now in the final of Lancashire FA Youth Cup. Its been a fantastic few days for Ryan Townsend with the youngster making his first senior apperance for the First Team on Saturday before scoring the only goal to put the lads into the final.

The goal came on the hour mark when Townsend smashed the ball home after a corner wasn't dealt with by Tranmere. Townsend then played his part at the back and kept Tranmere at bay despite the visitors throwing everybody forward in search of an equaliser.

The lads will now meet either Oldham or Wigan in the final but will return to league matters for the time being with the side facing Bury at Gawthorpe on Saturday.
