The opening of the transfer window has again led to speculation involving players coming to Burnley. We bring you all the latest on that story as well as transfer rumours involving other Division 1 players.
The transfer link with Delroy Facey will not go away with more than one national newspaper 'revealing' that he will join the Clarets this month. Facey played for Bolton against Tranmere on Saturday after Sam Allardyce made 10 changes to the team that played the previous week. Facey hit the post but failed to score during the game and will have dropped even further down the pecking order, at the Reebok, now that Javi Moreno has arrived. The one thing to note though was that one particular paper, which predicted the move, also told its readers that there would be nearly 150 transfers involving Premiership clubs this month which is highly unlikely.
Recent Burnley trialist Jesper Christiansen was reported to have played for Kidderminster over the weekend but it was later revealed that he wasn't the same player that came to Burnley. With this particular Christiansen playing upfront for Kidderminster.
With the transfer window now open, for this month, speculation will mount over a number of players in the 1st Division. Top of wanted list appear to be the likes of Jermaine Defoe, Ricardo Fuller and Andy Reid. In fact Reid will probably be sold to Tottenham shortly with Spurs looking to increase their intial bid of £2.5 million which was turned down by Nottingham Forest.
Sunderland who recently had a loan bid for Robbie Blake turned down are set to sign Kevin Cooper on loan for 3 months. Former Reading striker Jamie Cureton is currently at Wearside having a trial so it looks as though Sunderland will not be renewing their interest in Blake.
With James McEveley's loan spell over at the club it will be interesting to see if Stan Ternent will try and bring in another defender to tighten things up at the back.
