Strikers have been the key for most sides with Burnley still heavily linked with a move for Facey. Bolton have said they want a fee in the region of £200,000 for the forward, this looks as though it could happen although a swap with Glen Little hasn't been ruled out yet.

Darren Huckerby has been the striker that had interested a lot of sides. He has just finished his loan spell at Norwich and has returned to Manchester City. Norwich wanted to keep him but won't pay his wgae demands, the well run club were one of just 3 sides who promised they could complete their fixtures last season and it looks as though they won't risk their clubs finances on players.

It was expected that Huckerby would be going to Wigan to replace Geoff Horsefield who was on his way to West Brom, Horsefield only signed for Wigan 3 months ago but the offer from West Brom was too good to turn down as he still lives in the West Midlands, but it now appears as though Huckerby could be joining him as well with Manchester City confirming that they have accepted a bid from West Brom.

This all comes just a few weeks after Nottingham Forest sold the Division's second top scorer, Marlon Harewood, to West Ham for £500,000 shortly before they bought Marlon King for £950,000.

Stan Ternent must be envious that other clubs seem to find the cash to sign the forwards they want yet we can't quite come up with the cash at the moment. It remains to be seen how much of the £950,000 raised by the sale of the land outside Turf Moor will be given to Stan to spend within the transfer market.
