Burnley were given an away tie in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup. The Clarets will meet either Mansfield or Wycombe Wanderers on the first Saturday in the New Year. Burnley will have to wait until a week on Tuesday to find out who we will be playing in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.

The draw which was made by George Cohen and Peter Shilton was moved back to its Sunday slot and Burnley didn't have to wait long to be drawn out. Only five teams came out before the number 7 ball was picked, meaning that we have been drawn away from Turf Moor again. We will travel to either Mansfield or Wycombe Wanderers who played out a 1-1 draw in the televised game the other night.

It was the 6th time in a row that we've been given an away tie in the competition however most fans seem reasonably pleased with the draw. Wycombe, under new manager Tony Adams, are rock bottom in the Second Division whilst Mansfield are currently 4th in the Third Division and are just two points off the top.

We haven't been to Field Mill for over 10 years now and our record at Wycombe isn't good although we should be expected to progress which ever side we meet.

As soon as we know who we're playing and ticket information, we'll let you know. If we are to progress then at least you should know our number. The numbers are decided on when you were drawn out of the hat in the previous round so in case you hadn't worked it out yet we are.....number 3.
