Joe Hart has admitted he wasn’t sure what future he had in football during his time at Burnley.

The goalkeeper spent two years with the Clarets, starting off in the team during the 2018-19 season, before losing his place to a fit-again Tom Heaton and then Nick Pope. Hart tried to leave Turf Moor after his first season at the club but, speaking on the new In The Stiffs podcast, admitted he found the football world was closed to him just three years on from being Man City and England No.1.

The arrival of Pep Guardiola ended his time in Manchester and he joined Burnley after loan spells with Torino and West Ham. He played the opening 19 Premier League games of his debut Turf Moor season before Sean Dyche restored Heaton for a season-defining win over West Ham which kickstarted a run to safety.
