Clarets' Carabao cup run ended at Turf Moor Burnley’s Carabao Cup progress was ended at the fourth-round stage as Lucas Moura’s header earned Tottenham a narrow win at Turf Moor.

 The Brazilian international converted compatriot Emerson Royal’s cross midway through the second half to settle a tight contest which saw chances hard to come by.

 The Clarets applied plenty of late pressure in search of a response but couldn’t force a way through as Spurs held on to advance to the last eight. Sean Dyche made six changes from the side which drew 2-2 with Southampton in the

 Premier League on Saturday, bringing in summer signing Connor Roberts for his Clarets debut.

 The backline Roberts was part of were tested for the first time four minutes in as Giovani Lo Celso released Harry Kane, only for the England captain to see his left-footed shot fly wide of the target from a tight angle inside the area.

Extremely poor first half with nothing created, Vyds and Jay were anonymous, they were subbed in the 2nd half for Wood and Barnes both of which struggled with lack of service, things changed for the better when Max came on for the last 15 minutes at least we got a bit more creative and threatened a bit more.

New guys Brentford up next.

The Max has a lot depending on him and that is a concern...he will be targeted.
