Irish eyes were smiling and George Boyd had the last laugh as Burnley to back to winning ways in a five-goal thriller.
Jeff Hendrick illuminated Turf Moor with one of the best goals seen in years to open the scoring in the 13th minute, before Republic of Ireland team mate Stephen Ward opened his account for the season within three minutes to double the lead.
Benik Afobe controversially halved the deficit in first half stoppage time, but the Clarets restored their two-goal advantage 15 minutes from time with another stunner from Boyd.
And as Bournemouth threw the kitchen sink at the Clarets to try and salvage a result, Charlie Daniels’ injury time strike was mere consolation.
There were four changes to the Clarets side, with skipper Tom Heaton returning in goal following two games out injured.
Matt Lowton, Steven Defour and Sam Vokes all returned to the starting line-up, with Paul Robinson, Jon Flanagan, Andre Gray and Ashley Barnes all dropped to a strong looking bench.
There was an immediate penalty appeal by the Clarets when, in in second minute, Harry Arter escaped with a clumsy challenge on Hendrick in a flurry of legs.
But the visitors were lively too in the early stages and when Ryan Fraser’s shot deflected into the path of Benik Afobe, Heaton was alert to smother the snapshot.
Dan Gosling, who had earlier bobbled a first-time effort wide, then fired just over following a smart training-ground corner routine.
But the Clarets took the lead in sensational fashion in the 13th minute. There was no luck as Hendrick brilliantly plucked Matt Lowton’s through ball out of the sky, took a touch on his knee and volleyed straight into the top corner from 25 yards.

The lads played well today, usual one or two dodgy moments but overall they looked in charge. Midfield looked very good, Hendrick finally showed what he is about, Marney put in a great shift and Ward was a lot better today. Good win, onwards and upwards.

A much needed win today and some good football with one outstanding piece of skill from Hendrick,what a goal it was as well.. Great to see Gray and Boyd team up for another good goal.. All in all a good day at the office for the Clarets..
Two first class mascot talisman's then.Hendrick.........have we changed our opinion of him DT,I include myself in that consideration having agreed with some of your earlier comments as to his qualities to being here at all.

Hendrick's alright, always puts a shift in and gaining confidence every game. Hell of a goal!
DeFour might be SD's problem. Clearly a level ahead of most, but where does he fit?
I thought in the 2nd half with Barnes and Gray in a 4-4-2 (Dyche's preferred formation) we created chances. Both Gray and Arfield should have scored. Also think Gray and Barnes present more of a threat than Vokes in a 5-4-1.
4-4-2 where does Defour fit?
Marney is having an outstanding season. We are short out wide, but he can't play there. When JBG comes back and we add another winger in Jan and Joey backing up centre-mid...where does the best footballer at the club fit?
Marney was the glue on which yesterday's victory was founded. I don't think he needs to worry about his place. Hendrick is an SD type player, ran his socks off for the full 90 minutes ad I think that goal was the greatest I've ever seen at Turf Moor. I think Arfield will lose his place to Gumundsson.
We are making progress in that we can now operate successfully with two different systems, 4-5-1 with a midfield of Marney, Defour, Hendrick, or 4-4-2 with Marney and Hendrick midfield and perm any two from three up front, although Barnes/Gray would be my preferred option after yesterday.
I wonder what Sean had to say about their second goal, he clearly wasn't impressed, and no wonder. What on earth were they doing, George was pulling his socks up and the rest of them seemed to be chatting amongst themselves, totally oblivious to the fact that Bournemouth had taken the corner. It was injury time after all, it shouldn't have come as a major surprise that Bournemouth took it quickly, of course they bloody did, not like us at all, they really had switched off.
Yep Defour is the great enigma, he's a throwback to the 60s a kind of scheming inside forward a la Tommy Harmer or John White.
But Dyche's comments afterwards were surreal about the success of the early subs... as if he's just discovered that this is something he can actually do and it can have a massive impact on a game rather than leaving it until the 80th or 85th minutes.
He seems to be saying it was something he was persuaded to do by Woan and Loughlan, whatever, it worked so I'm not going to overthink it, but will he revert to 4-5-1 at West Ham, or stick with this more open 4-4-2 ?
Doesn't really matter what he does imo, if we win or draw he'll have made the right decision, if we lose he won't.
The problem with Defour is he only lasts 50 mins and is a bit of a luxury player away from home. He's the best footballer I have seen at Burnley in the first half of a game. Hopefully he will get fitter and start to last the full 90 mins.
Lets hope we can play with the same fight and commitment away as we do at home starting at West Ham.
after three defeats Burnley faced Bournemouth .the latter with heavy investments on new players and after beating Liverpool were at the helm and according to their fans beating Burnley was too easy .
but Burnley showed that were armed to face any eventuality and beat their opponents with the players giving a superb performance .
burnley have to win more and more matches so that they should be away from the relegation zone . the brave soldiers of Burnley are here to give us an outstanding performance .
