Burnley 1 Nottingham Forest 0

Sam Vokes' 10th goal of the season extended the Clarets' unbeaten run to 10 league games in the gritty 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest. The solitary strike, 23 minutes from the end of a tight contest, was the Welshman,s goal sixth in nine games and kept the Clarets just one point behind leaders Hull City.

The Clarets also recorded their fourth clean sheet in a row for the first time since April, 2007 as their momentum builds at a crucial time of the season.

Defender James Tarkowski made his full debut for the Clarets, replacing the injured Michael Keane who picked up a head injury last time out.

And there was a fine pace to the first half by the Clarets, who controlled possession.

Andre Gray continued his tireless effort from Saturday’s victory over Rotherham, and the forward came close with two early chances.

Joey Barton’s inch-perfect free-kick found the onrushing forward six-yards out, but the league’s top scorer couldn’t steer his header on target.

Gray was then on the end of a clever Scott Arfield through ball, turning captain Matt Mills on the edge of the box only for a fine Michael Mancienne block to send the effort wide.

The resulting corner brought another Gray effort, with David Jones’ deep set-piece headed out to the former Brentford striker, where Gray’s acrobatic back-heel brought a flying save from De Vries.

Didn't realise Lansbury was injured and not starting back until next month.

Brilliant football, playing Forest off the park, but rarely look like scoring.

Fully expect us to win the league this time.

All that's in my head now. Can't see anything else.

Good football as well this time, especially first-half.

Have to mention Ben Mee, absolutely outstanding, faultless, won everything all night. 10/10 from me.

Tarkovsky looked good as well, a footballing centre-half. Nice.

Great result...strengh in depth, can't remember that happening for a long time.Any slips will be costly for any of the top sides. We have been here before as have Hull.Relentless.

Does a fit Keane play on Saturday?

I was asking MH what he thought near the end, he said yes. Me I'm not so sure, Sean tends not to drop players who are doing their job, and we haven't conceded a goal yet while Tarkovsky has been on the pitch. I think Keane might have to wait his turn.

It's a tricky one though, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Based on Boyd (and a couple of other examples). Boyd got injured in the 3-0 defeat at Hull (a freak result), Kights came in and we won 4-0 two days later. Then Boyd got his shirt back.

If Keane also missed Saturday or longer then who knows but if he is fit and fine to play on Saturday (having trained this week I assume) then I think he will play.

It'll be Keane and Tarokowski from August

Ben mee is player of the year so far, you don't drop your player of the year.

Keane will be sold if we miss promotion, plenty of clubs to chase him.

You could say the same about any of Mee, Tarkowski or Keane though DT.

You wait and see. I'm rarely wrong. I predict Keane and T will start centre half from August.

Keane is nowhere near ready for a proper PL club, few years yet.

Oh. And player of the year? Barron's already won it. Just you see.
