Burnley made it thirteen league games unbeaten in a six-goal thriller against Birmingham City at St Andrew's. The Clarets took the lead three times, but were pinned back on each occasion by a determined Blues side.

Dean Marney scored his third goal in the last seven games to put Burnley in front on the half-hour mark. Substitute Federico Macheda equalised for the Blues shortly after coming on in the second half before a beautiful header by Michael Duff – his first goal since Boxing Day 2012 – restored the Clarets’ advantage. However, Manchester City loanee Emyr Huws brought Birmingham back into level terms once again with a controlled strike from outside the box. Sam Vokes scored what seemed destined to be the winner with three minutes to go, but Macheda came up with the goods one more time in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Despite the draw, Burnley went back eight points clear in second place in the Championship table. Ross Wallace was handed his first start since August as Sean Dyche made one change to the team that achieved a historic win over local rivals Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. Meanwhile, the hosts lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation. Burnley dominated from the early stages with Danny Ings particularly threatening on the break thanks to his pace. On 11 minutes, Kieran Trippier saw his first-time volley fly over the crossbar after a cleverly worked corner by the Clarets.

Burnley will show their prowess again .the players are highly motivated and under the guidance of a great manager ,the players will repeat their outstanding performance this evening .
It's pretty scary entering into each match thinking 'we should win this'. I know the players are grounded, but I can't ever remember feeling this confident about each and every game.

Under normal circumstances you would say that Wallace deserves to replace Kightly after his impace on Sunday, but with the run we've been on I thought Dyche would have gone with Kightly.
Still, Dyche has always had a soft spot for Wallace.

I think Bordeaux had a point, even subconsciously we might have thought we were on an easy road. It's possibly something that will help, rather than hinder. I hope so anyway.

Exactly. Obviously there will be some numpties who overreact, but we're still on course.
Obviously it's disappointing to let the lead slip 3 times but a point away from home is a good point. The biggest worry is the possible injury to Ings, hope it doesn't prove to be long term!

Don't know how serious Ing's injury is, but on the plus side Barnes was absolutely superb when he came on. No worries for me about that lad replacing Ings, he can play.

If you can't beat Birmingham from that far down the league then you may as well give the Prem league a miss. 2nd in the league, what a clucking joke. Teams with ambition and quality win these games 5-0. Sack the skinhead! All these boards showing Burnley are happy with the point, Cluck the cluck off! Stay in this league, build the team , then, and only then when you're @#$%& OFF by drawing with Birmingham should you even think about wishing for promotion.
