The hottest strikers in the division came up against the meanest defence on the road in a frustrating Turf Moor stalemate.

Twice, dominant Burnley hit the woodwork, while Tomasz Kuszczak made a fine second half save from Vokes after the Welshman found room for a far post header.
In a game of few clear-cut chances for either side, Clarets’ keeper Tom Heaton made crucial saves in each half to deny Kazenga LuaLua and Andrea Orlandi.
But with Albion always seemingly happy with a point, the Clarets just couldn’t find the all-important opening to settle a tight encounter.
Burnley welcomed back defender Ben Mee, who was starting his first game since New Year's Day after recovering from injury.
Danny Lafferty, who had held the left back spot, missed out through injury along with winger Keith Treacy.
And the Clarets probably knew they were in for a tight encounter against a Brighton side that had conceded just 10 league goals on the road; the least in the Championship.
However, it was a bright start from the hosts, with David Jones inches away from slipping Danny Ings clear following a sweet passing move through the middle.
In the 16th minute, the Clarets were a whisker away from taking the lead through a training ground corner.
Kightly played a clever one-two with Ings and, from the striker’s back heel, smashed a shot off the base of Kuszczak’s near post from the tightest of angles.
And as the loose ball pinballed around the Brighton box, Vokes’ fierce follow-up shot was bravely headed away by a defender standing guard.
But after constant pressing from the hosts it took a fabulous block from Hesaton to deny LuaLua a surefire opener in the 27th minute.
The winger, in his fourth spell at Albion, created the chance himself by dinking the ball past Michael Duff, but last man Heaton was alert to the danger and blocked the route to goal with his legs.
And as Brighton grew in confidence, the half time whistle came with the visitors marginally in the ascendancy.
Soon after the break, Vokes met Jones’ free kick from the let by-line with a header that flashed past the far post.
And following a move down the right, Scott Arfield tested Kuszczak’s handling with a rising drive form the right side of the box.

Another game we dominated but couldn't find the back of the net, bit of a familiar story going on here.
Well i will have to say its not good enough throwing all these home points away in matches we should have won,looks like we are heading for another after christmas catastrophe .. On the positive side we are still undefeated this year though (in the league)

Twitter's in meltdown. Disappointing, but nothing to panic about quite yet.
Must say that's a cracking report above, makes it sound like we did everything but score and were robbed. In fact that's the worst I've seen us play this season, we rarely looked like scoring and but for Heaton we wouldn't even have got a point.

I agree no "catastrophe" but we need to be picking up max points at home to stop the top two getting beyond us I had kind of given up on reaching Leicester to be honest; but QPR getting away from us would be such a lost opportunity given where we were a month ago.

It is frustrating, but not entirely unexpected. I just hope if/when we lose at QPR that fans remain realistic and don't start getting on the players' backs. I know no one here is 'having a go' but there are numpties who would start over-reacting to a loss at Loftus Road.
It would ordinarily be regarded as a decent Burnley performance. Drawing at home is not in itself a bad thing. The thing was, we were very poor by recent standards. I don't think it's wrong of fans to feel frustrated when the dream begins to fade.
A few weeks ago we were dominating teams and playing attractive football. Last night was the opposite of all that. Given that Leicester are virtually unstoppable and their points gap is now enormous, it does hurt to see Burnley looking like also rans.

As poor as we were with some of our distribution, Shackell being one of the biggest culprits, I wouldn't have said we were really poor.
We pretty much dominated Brighton in the second half but came up against a very very good defence which has conceded 10 goals away from home all season and kept clean sheets at the top 3 teams now.
Apart from the two cracking saves from Heaton cant think that they threatened too much whilst we hit the woodwork 3 times, had an effort that looked to be cleared off the 6 yard line and the Vokes header which the keeper did well to scramble round the post.
We weren't at our free flowing best but a lot of credit goes to BHA for the work rate they put in and the quick movement of the ball which made it difficult to close down at times.

The most glaring problem for me was the utter lack of penetration from Kigntly and Arfield. Kightly hasn't improved at all since his first game and Arfield seems to have settled into a rut of mediocre performances. I feel sorry for Vokes, he has to exist on the occasional cross from Tripps and a succesion of hopeful punts upfield from the back four. It seems only a few short weeks since Ince was getting it in the neck for saying we were long ball merchants, well he wasn't far wrong, that's what we're mainly playing at the moment.

If Sean is looking at wingers, which he is apparently, he's probably aware and trying to rectify. Shame Stanislas doesn't fit into Dyche's 'defend as a team' mentality because he can cause problems on his day.
