Club Statement--Clarets Duo Set For Exit

Burnley Football Club can confirm that Bolton Wanderers have been given permission to speak to Tyrone Mears and Chris Eagles.

A fee in the region of £3m has been agreed for the Clarets duo, who are set to enter the final year of their current contracts.
Burnley Football Club had hoped to persuade the players to sign extensions to their present deals.

The club promises the £3 million or whatever will ALL be reinvested in impriving the squad.

I hope this is in ADDITION to the money already earmarked for the 2/3 "quality" signings Eddie Howe told us he was going to make before he knew Eagles and Mears would be going.

That will mean 4/5 new "quality" permanent signings must be made pretty DAMN QUICK to appease the fans and reduce the risk of anger, apathy and then dwindling attendances.

Load of bollocks from the club. Just like when we were told last season that Frame wasn't Fletcher's replacement.

Howe will fly south and recruit some lower division inexperienced players . This is how the money will be spent and in the meantime Burnley will be eternally in the danger zone of relegation .

This is the procedure they will adopt ,I presume .

looks like we are gonna be following preston down the league FFS burnley ur showin us fan that u dont give a @#$%& and u'd rather sell our best players than push for promotion
